I‘m Charlotte, owner and head baker of Charlotte’s Sweet Treats.

I’ve been baking cakes as a hobby for a good few years now, anybody that knows me will ask for a birthday or celebration cake because it’s what I do best!

I’m based in Seaford and work in events in Brighton where the food scene is absolutely abundant and inspiration is around every corner. I’m always looking for new recipes and love to feed the friends and family around me. Charlotte’s Sweet Treats is a passion of mine that I’m hoping to take-up full time, bookings permitting. Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year and I love baking gingerbread.

The sweet smells of cinnamon, butter and ginger wafting out the kitchen – where it’s okay to stop the never ending diet and let yourself go a bit as the weather turns a bit colder. When tea is replaced with hot chocolate and marshmallows!

I’ll never forget the first time I saw a Gingerbread House. My grandma Gwen brought it around one year and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. All the sweets and decorations, an edible centerpiece.

I decided to experiment with baking my own gingerbread houses over the following years and have branched out to Halloween in addition to Christmas

Gingerbread can vary in a whole manner of shapes and sizes, with various structures and bespoke exteriors. I even decided to replicate modern day houses in gingerbread form.

They are great as a centerpiece, gift for a relative or for family to enjoy! They additionally make a great marketing tool for business events and presentations all year around.
